Heidi Robbins earned her Bachelors of Arts in Psychology at Saint Lawrence University and her Masters in Clinical Psychology at Saint Michael College. She joined Hannah’s House in late 2018 after gaining 5 years of valuable experience as an outpatient therapist at Washington County Mental Health. Since becoming licensed in 2016 she has also been providing support to student-athletes as a sport psychology consultant. Heidi is passionate about offering high quality mental health services to children and families of the Mad River Valley in her role at Hannah’s House.
Heidi is trained to use Neurofeedback to help children, teens, and adults with a range of mental health challenges. Individuals who have used Neurofeedback have demonstrated improvements in their ability to focus, regulate behavior, and manage emotions. People who struggle with ADHD, insomnia, anxiety, and PTSD have reported benefits from Neurofeedback sessions. This modality can benefit a range of individuals and is well suited to Heidi’s special interest in sport and athletic populations.
As a founding member of the Children’s Grief and Loss Project at WCMHS, Heidi developed knowledge and experience in supporting children and families with issues related to grief. Heidi recognizes the importance of working collaboratively with parents and caregivers to address their children’s mental health needs. She volunteers at Camp Knock Knock, a family bereavement camp where she co-facilitates a grief group for children and connects with other
bereavement professionals.
Heidi is passionate about sport and exercise. She grew up ski racing in Vermont and attended Killington Mountain School. In spite of several knee surgeries Heidi’s skiing career culminated in participating in NCAA skiing at both St. Lawrence University and St. Michael’s College. She continues to stay involved in sport working as a ski coach at Cochran’s Ski Club on the weekends. She also offers mental health and sport psychology consulting services for student-athletes at Okemo Mountain School.
